Project Description

The National Park Service (NPS) is conducting climate change scenario planning workshops around the U.S., and with GLISA's collaboration, a workshop was held in 2013 for Isle Royale National Park.  GLISA worked with NPS to develop localized historical and future climate information for Isle Royale that was used by park officials during their scenario planning workshop.  The templated climate information is produced through collaborations with climate change adaptation specialists with NPS and GLISA climate scientists.  Three different tables were produced for the scenario planning workshop:

  1. Comprehensive (Full) Climate Driver Table
  2. Condensed Climate Driver Table
  3. Least Change Climate Table

Project Materials

Resources are collected to support problem solving in this project. Below is the list of resources that were consulted during this project.

help: learn more about resources

Projects typically start by collecting resources that are relevant to the problems/questions being asked.  A resource can be anything that is used by the project such as a journal article, report, map, figure, data set, or website.  Resources gathered for this project may be useful to other projects asking similar questions, so all resources are made public in the Resource Portal.  Resources can have tags associated with them to provide metadata about their content, and they can also have narratives attached to them.  Please tag any resource that this project uses with this project's name in the "Project(s) that used this resource" field.  There are two ways to collect resources for this project:

  • Search existing resources on and add them to this project (edit the resource page and tag it with this project's name)
  • Create a new resource by either uploading a file, providing a URL to the resource, or uploading a bibliography of references

Add a new resource using:
+ quick form (with option to add full metadata later)
+ full metadata form (includes bibliographic and topic tags)
+ import a bibliography

Documents/materials are developed as part of the problem solving for this project. These documents are developed in a collaborative wiki-style environment and unpublished versions are only viewable by project members.

help: learn more about wikis

Problem solving is a major component of projects on this site.  Often as part of the problem solving process, project teams will co-develop documents, materials, and other forms of information to advance the work of the project.  This space is intended to support co-develop of information by providing wiki-like pages that can be created, edited, and eventually published as a resource for others.  Wiki pages are only accessible to project members (those listed as members on this page) until they are published.
